Family & Systemic Constellations
A guided, embodied process for seeing the hidden loyalties, losses and roles that quietly shape your relationships, choices and sense of belonging.
Family and Systemic Constellations is a phenomenological group and individual practice that looks at the people, roles and events you were born into — not just the ones you remember, but the ones that live on in the family field: a grandparent who died young, a sibling who was never spoken of, a war, a migration, a debt that was never repaid. These stories rarely stay in the past. They tend to resurface as patterns: repeating relationship dynamics, a career that never quite lands, an anxiety with no clear source, a loyalty that keeps you stuck.
In a session with Albi, we work with representatives (in a group setting) or with symbolic markers and guided imagery (in a private one-on-one session) to let the underlying system 'speak' for itself. Rather than analyzing the story intellectually, you feel where the tension actually lives — and, more importantly, you experience a new, more resourced image of your place within your family system. Many clients describe the shift as physical: a breath that finally moves, a weight that lifts, a sentence they didn't know they needed to say.
What This Work Can Help With
- Recognize and release patterns that repeat across generations
- Find your rightful place within your family system, without over-functioning or over-giving
- Untangle loyalty conflicts that keep you stuck in relationships, money or career
- Restore a felt sense of belonging, even after estrangement, loss or migration
- Create movement on issues that talk therapy alone hasn't resolved
How a Session Works
A grounding conversation
We start by naming the issue you want to work on — a relationship, a recurring block, a health concern, a decision. Albi listens for the systemic thread underneath the surface story.
Setting up the constellation
In a workshop, you choose representatives for the relevant family members or elements and place them in the room by feel, not by logic. In a private session, we use floor markers, figurines or guided visualization to achieve the same effect.
Letting the field move
Albi facilitates the unfolding — watching posture, breath and spontaneous movement to find where the entanglement sits, and where resolution wants to happen.
A resourced closing image
Every session closes with an image of order restored: everyone in the system given their rightful place, and you standing more freely in yours.
Is This Right for You?
This work tends to resonate most if:
- You keep attracting the same relationship pattern
- You feel a loyalty to struggle, guilt, or 'staying small' that logic can't explain
- There's an unspoken loss, secret, or exclusion in your family history
- You're facing a major decision (a move, a breakup, a business) and feel unusually stuck
- Traditional talk therapy has helped, but something systemic still hasn't shifted
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Constellations work phenomenologically — the field often reveals information that was never consciously known or spoken about. You bring what you know; the process fills in the rest through what representatives feel and how the system moves.
Family Constellations is a complementary, experiential modality, not a replacement for licensed psychotherapy or medical care. Many clients do both — constellation work often accelerates what talk therapy has already started.
In a group, live representatives give you an unusually clear, embodied read of the system. In a private session, we recreate that same field using markers or guided imagery — ideal if you're not ready for a group, are short on time, or prefer full confidentiality.
Yes. Constellations translate remarkably well to video call, using symbolic objects, guided visualization, or online representative groups. Distance does not weaken the field.
